2023 APTA Idaho Election Outcomes

  • VICE-PRESIDENT:

    1. Nash S. Johnson, PT, DPT

    • Hello, I am Nash Johnson, DPT, and I currently hold the esteemed position of Vice President for APTA Idaho. In the past year, serving as Vice President, I successfully achieved goals that I had set for the chapter. I am currently working diligently to find local district chairs and foster more in-person district meetings, encouraging stronger local involvement. In May, I had the privilege of helping organize a compelling continuing education course on Concussion Rehab in the Eastern district of the Idaho Chapter, which was made possible thanks to Shawn Higbee, DPT, the course instructor, and the administrative support of Nicole Kinney. Furthermore, I had the honor of serving as a delegate from APTA Idaho at the esteemed APTA Leadership Congress, further deepening my commitment to the profession and the association. I have also participated in advocacy for our profession at the state and national levels. Beyond my role as Vice President, I am also a full-time faculty member in the PTA program at Idaho State University, proudly connected to my alma mater as an alumnus of both the PTA and DPT programs. If entrusted with re-election as Vice President, my unwavering dedication will remain focused on promoting increased local member engagement within our chapter and the individual districts. I also look forward to representing and mentoring both PTs and PTAs keen on greater involvement with APTA. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the members and leadership of APTA Idaho for their continuous support during my tenure. Allow me to share a bit more about my personal life. I have been happily married to my wife, Heather, for 23 years, and together, we are blessed with four wonderful children: Anya (22), Emory (20), RaeLee (17), and Sari (14). Our family enjoys spending quality time camping during the summer. Personally, I greatly enjoy riding my bike and playing pickleball whenever possible. On occasion, I can find time for other interests/hobbies such as metal models and needlework, particularly cross-stitch.

  • TREASURER:

    1. Kevin Bradt, PT

    • My name is Kevin Bradt and I’m a physical therapist that works in outpatient orthopedics for St. Lukes Health System in Boise. I graduated from Clarke University’s DPT program in 2013 and have been practicing in outpatient orthopedics for 10 years. I’m running for treasurer to help support the state’s chapter and collaborate in the effort of advancing APTA Idaho forward. I know there is a need for increased participation from our PTs and PTAs in the state and I want to help in a way that I’m capable of. I consider myself organized, on time, dependable, and generally good with numbers. This is why I think I would be a great fit for the treasurer position. I would love the opportunity to meet some of the other professionals in the state while working on the APTA-Idaho board as well.

Thank you for this opportunity and your support! Kevin Bradt, PT, DPT, OCS

  • CHIEF DELEGATE:

    1. Renee Hawkins, PT

    • I have been a member of the APTA since 1984. I served on the board of directors in the late 80’s and early 90’s as the Chairman of Finance and treasurer. I have been serving as the Chief Delegate for Idaho for the past 4 years. I have attended the first completely virtual House of Delegates due to Covid in 2020. We have been doing a hybrid of virtual and in person since that time. This past year I had the opportunity and challenge of being the lead delegate of the Western Caucus, which really solidified my understanding of how the House of Delegates operates.  I look forward to serving another 2 years.

Renee is currently serving at APTA Idaho’s chief delegate. Her current term ends December 2023.

  • DELEGATE:

    1. David Cox, PT, DPT

    • Hello APTA Idaho members, Serving as a member of the Idaho Chapter of the APTA would be a duty and honor that my mentors and educators taught me firsthand the importance of. They were proponents of service leadership in all forms. Serving as the role of Delegate would provide me with the opportunity to be true to things that I find important which is open communication. This position would allow for the opportunity to educate those in our field about what the Idaho APTA is doing in the face of the difficulties in our field.

  • PTA CAUCUS REPRESENTATIVE:

    1. Christy Hall, PTA

    • Christy Hall, PTA, CHC, BSArthritis Foundation Exercise InstructorNIC PTA Program Adjunct Lab InstructorThe role of a PTA Council Representative is undergoing several changes on a national level within the APTA that will also modify the role of the PTA in the state of Idaho. I would like to continue to represent the PTAs in Idaho through this change to help mold optimal performance, job descriptions, and scope of practice in both the state and national levels. I have held the role of PTA representative in the past and returned to the position last year. I would be honored to continue to serve during these essential changes and help mentor PTAs that want to represent after.

  • NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEMBER:

    1. Allison Urbatchka, PT, DPT

    • I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in 2015 and have been an outpatient physical therapist focusing on neurologic care for S. Luke’s Rehabilitation for the past 8 years. My advanced certifications include Neurologic Clinical Specialist, Certified Brain Injury Specialist, and LSVT BIG therapist.  I have the unique pleasure of working in a clinic with varying specialists including sports medicine, pelvic health, pediatric, cancer, spine, osteoporosis, lymphedema, concussion, occupational rehab, speech therapy and occupational therapy. My passion for this population and seeing the incredible need for outstanding care across disciplines and professions, drove me to run for the nominating committee position 3 years ago. As current chair of the committee, I have seen firsthand the amazing progress we have made. The pandemic limited the number of volunteers and in person events the Idaho APTA could hold, and the organization suffered. It is with an incredible amount of dedication and hard work that has allowed us to make the leaps and bounds we have. If re-elected, I will serve on this committee with the same dedication, efficiency, and drive as the past 3 years.
